Glen Albert Binoya, a 47-year-old applicant in a socio-civic group in Cavite, has suffered a stroke, had a hemorrhage, and died after allegedly undergoing the initiation process of the club.
Sixteen members of the socio-civic group are now facing complaints for violating the Anti-Hazing Law after the death of Binoya.
The initiations occurred in January but it was only in March that his loved ones identified who should be included in the complaint.
Sixteen officers and members of the Cavite Samaritans Eagles Club and a number of John Does have been named respondents in the complaint filed before the Imus City Prosecutors’ Office.
The victim’s father, Angelito, said Glen should not have been subjected to hazing given his age.
“Hazing is not allowed by law. Bakit gan’un ang tinanggap nila?” he said.
