Etisalat introduces microchip implant to UAE residents

Etisalat has introduced a new mobile concept at the just-concluded 39th Gitex Technology Week pushing for microchip implant to UAE residents.

Etisalat promises people the ultimate mobile experience by impanting it to their bodies.

The telco provider has partnered  with Swedish company Biohax International to implant microchips in a person’s hand that can be loaded with all kinds of data, including your medical history, passwords, among others.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, witnessed the demonstration and  lauded the technology.

Government officials also showed interest in the microchip technology.

The implant is grain-size and can be planted between the index finger and thumb. The chip can be injected like a vaccine shot.

This technology is already being practiced in some European countries.

Target price for the micro chip is 150 Euros or Dh607. (TN)
