NBA: Lakers waive DeMarcus Cousins, include Markieff Morris to team roster

Los Angeles Lakers officially signed forward Markieff Morris as the team waived center DeMarcus Cousins following his injury.
Reports from ESPN and CBS Sports further that Markieff signed into the team’s $1.75 million Disabled Player Exception to join the Lakers. Markieff is the twin brother of Marcus Morris, who was signed by the Clippers.
“That’s my brother man. If he goes to L.A., then I’m gonna be in Staples Center all the time. I think maybe to y’all it might be weird that I’m going to all his games, but that’s what’ll probably happen. And we’ll probably get a house together,” said Marcus Morris.
This, as Lakers continue their string of victories after defeating Boston Celtics 114-112.
Lakers’ 15-man roster had to make space for Markieff, which led the team to waive their injured center, DeMarcus Cousins who has yet to play a game this season as he’s currently recovering after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament on his left knee last August.
Cousins is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee sustained in August 2019 and has not played since the 2018-19 season. The injured center signed a $3.5 million one year contract in July 2019, after playing for the Golden State Warriors in 2018-2019 for 30 regular season games and eight post season games.
