CSB sweeps volleyball games against Letran at NCAA Season 95

Season 95 of the NCAA witnessed a sweep victory across the men’s and women’s volleyball tournaments as De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (CSB) continues its victory run of three games of 25-20, 25-18, 25-15 against Colegio de San Juan de Letran for the women’s volleyball tournament; and 25-21, 25-16, 25-22 for the men’s division in their respective matches last Monday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Coach Jerry Yee fielded all 11 women players who scored their hits, with Chelsea Umali leading the Lady Blazers with seven points, as per a report from ABS-CBN Sports.
Michelle Gamit, Klarisa Abriam, and substitute Jade Gentapa all contributed had six points each for CSB, effectively dislodging reigning champion Arellano University from the top ranks.
Neophytes Gayle Pascual and Mycah Go of the Lady Blazers’ produced five points each for the team.
Letran’s Lady Knights closely tied in during the first few sets of the game, before the Lady Blazers began to capping successive sets with Diane Ventura’s four-point outing in the match giving the crucial advantage for CSB.
Coach Yee continued to shuffle the rotation of the Lady Blazers, giving them time on and off the court which proved as an effective strategy for CSB.
Letran drops to a 1-1 score and is currently tied in with Jose Rizal University and the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta.
Lady Knights’ Chamberlaine Cuñada contibuted 15 hits for her team.
CSB’s men’s division saw Ruvince Abrot leading the team with two service aces and 15 points, beating Letran and raising their records to 2-1 for the NCAA Season 95 volleyball tournament run.
