Gretchen Ho chosen as torchbearer for 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Former Lady Eagle volleyball player and television host Gretchen Ho has been selected as one of the torchbearers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

She broke the news on her Instagram and Twitter account last Dec. 28 where she shared a snapshot of the email she received.

“GREAT NEWS TO END 2019. Guess who’s going to be a torchbearer at the @Tokyo2020 Olympics??? ??? Every athlete’s dream!!! I. Just. Can’t. Wait. For the new year to begiiiin! #tokyo2020,” she wrote on her caption.

However, she clarified that she will not be the flag bearer of the Philippines adding that she applied to become part of the torch relay.

She will join the 10,000 torchbearers in the relay which will start on March 26, 2020 at Fukushima prefecture.

This will run for 121 days heading to the opening of the games on July 24, 2020.
