The Philippines has gained another gold with the recent win of Kurt Bryan Barbosa in the finweight title on Monday.
This brings a total of eight gold medals for the country in taekwondo as the competition closes in Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, says a report by ABS-CBN News.
According to the same report, this is the best performance so far of the Philippine team in this sport. It surpassed the 2-3-4 medals in 2017 by Kuala Lumpur.
So far, the Philippines led in the medal standing with 8 gold and 9 silver medals.
Vietnam comes in second with 4 gold, two silver and five bronze medals, and Thailand with three gold, three silver and five bronze medals.
Cambodia, Indonesia, and Malaysia had one gold apiece.
