PH Mobile Legends team wins first esports gold medal

The Philippines’ Team Sibol proved that they can be the best among Southeast Asian countries as they clinched the gold medal from Indonesia in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, 3-2 yesterday.

The Mobile Legends team was composed of Kenneth Jiane “Kenji” Villa, Karl Gabriel “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, Carlito “Ribo” Ribo, Jeniel “Haze” Bata-anon, Angelo Kyle “Pheww” Arcangel, Allan Sancio “Lusty” Castromayor, and Jason Rafael “Jay” Torculas.

A historic win for the Philippines as esports makes a debut in the regional meet where six golds are at stake.

Team Philippines managed to win the first round in the best of five competition, but Indonesia captured the second and third.

The country gained momentum in the fourth round. The team defeated world champion Indonesia.
