Bahrain wins Gulf Cup for the first time

Bahrain has finally won its very first Arabian Gulf Title as it clinches victory over Saudi Arabia last December 8, Gulf News reported.

The Kingdom got a 1-0 win over Saudi Arabia, with star player Mohamed Al Rumaihi netting a second-half triumph—landing Bahrain its maiden victory in this coveted football competition.

Bahrain’s win ends the Kingdom’s 49-year wait for a maiden Gulf Cup title.

Saudi Arabia captain Salman Al Farag missed a first-half penalty, and the Kingdom has lost in the finals of the cup four times. Saudi Arabia has not the title again since 2004.
