Filipinos cheer Timor Leste to win SEA Games medal

The Timor Leste delegation has yet to win its first medal in the Southeast Asian Games and Filipinos proved that they can cheer behind their opponents, too.

Some Pinoy netizens took to social media their support for the team which has yet to win any medal in any SEA Games sport.

While the Philippines solidifies its lead in the race by doubling the total number of gold medals from the 2017 SEA Games in the first three days of the regional meet, Timor Leste trails behind the other countries that are part of the games.

“Keep fighting, Timor-Leste You can do it!” one netizen wrote.

“East Timor is the poorest Southeast Asian nation, only gaining independence in 2002. Yet they chose to be party of ASEAN and the SEA games. I hope you get a medal or two before going home. You guys deserve it. #TimorLeste they won 3 in 2017.

One netizen even created a cartoon to show love to their Timor Leste brothers who like the Philippines is also a Christian nation.
