PH leads with 9 gold medals in 30th SEA Games tally

The Philippines is leading in the medal tally on the first day of the 30th Southeast (SEA) Games.

Based on the latest medal tally, the Philippines already has nine gold medals.

The latest gold medal was won by the members of the dancesport team Sean Mischa Aramark and Ana Leonila Manalo Nualla in the open standard.

Earlier in the event, they already raked two gold medals in standard Viennese Waltz and single dance tango mixed.

The sepak takraw team also contributed another gold after winning the women’s hoop event.

Other gold medals were won by athletes Agatha Wong (women’s Wushu Taijiquan), John Chicano (men’s triathlon), Kim Mangrobang (women’s triathlon), and Mark Jayson Gayon and Mary Joy Renigen (two gold medals in Waltz and slow foxtrot).

The Philippines also garnered three silver medals by triathletes Kim and Filipino-American Kim Kilgroe and Kim Remolino and another silver from Gayon and Renigen of the dancesports team in the Standard Quickstep.

Two bronze medals were bagged by Philippines bet Avegail Rombaon in the women’s cross country mountainbike and Daniel Parantac in the Men’s Taijiquan.
