Agatha Wong defends wushu title, scores 2nd Gold for PH in 2019 SEA Games

Agatha Wong dominated the women’s wushu competition again!

The Filipina won the second gold medal for the Philippines in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) women’s taijiquan wushu event on Sunday,December 1, at the World Trade Center.

Wong led the contenders with a score pf 9.67 in the final round.

She also dominated the wushu competition in the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She also bagged a bronze medal in the 2018 Asian Games.

“In other countries, when you say ‘Wushu,’ alam na nila kaagad — even people who aren’t into sports. But here, some people don’t have an idea, and worse, they make fun of it pa,” Wong said in an interview with spin.ph.

Meanwhile in the men’s taijiquan, Filipino Daniel Parantac got the country’s first bronze.
