The Philippine basketball team has a slot in the FIBA 3×3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament that will be held in India on March 2020.
Pinoy shooters will be battling it out with 19 teams from the men’s and women’s division for the three tickets to be given for the 3×3 tournament of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Tokyo 2020 teams, from the men’s division are: Serbia, Russia, China, and Japan.
For the women’s division, the teams are: Russia, China, Mongolia, and Romania.

The Philippines made it in Group C of the men’s division, with Slovenia, France, Qatar, and Dominican Republic, after the seeding held in Utsonomiya, Japan on Friday represented by players: Roger Ray Pogoy, Stanley Pringle Jr., Troy Rosario, and Christian Standhardinger.
In reaction to the news, Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas President Al Panlilio said, “3×3 is an area where Filipino basketball players can really excel and we’re delighted that a Filipino basketball team will get to test their skills against the world’s best.”
It can be recalled that the Philippines ranks 20th overall in the FIBA 3×3 world rankings.
