The Philippine Women’s National Volleyball Team settled for bronze in the second leg of the ASEAN Grand Prix after losing to Indonesia, 21-25, 17-25, 25-22, 21-25, on Sunday at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.
It was the second straight time that the Philippines settled for a bronze medal finish.
Indonesia, behind Ratri Wulandari, Megawati Hangestri Perti, and Arsela Nuari Purnama, jumped to a hot start to take a 20-14 lead in the opening set, Timesbreaker reported.
Indonesia sustained its hot start and raced to a 20-14 lead in the second set and went to post a 2-0 lead.
The Philippines would trim the deficit, 1-2, after taking the third set but Hangestri Perti and Indonesia skipper Amalia Fajrina Nabila teamed up in the fourth set to put the game away.
