Amir Khan asks Pacman: ‘Are you interested in fighting me? You have my number.”

DUBAI: Former unified light-welterweight world champion Amir Khan has asked Sen. Manny Pacquiao for a match, saying Pacman has his number and he is just a phone call away.

The British professional boxer coursed his message to the Filipino boxing champ through Kris Fade in a whatsapp message aired on the radio presenter’s show.

“My question for him (Pacquiao)is that will he be interested in fighting me one day?” said Khan.

“I know I want it. It’s up to him if he wants it. We know that between the two of us, it will make sense to take the fight. He is a great champion. He is one of the best in the world,” Khan added.

“I think we both have big names. I think it can be a very big fight. I’d just want to ask Manny the question, ask if he’d be interested in fighting me.

“Manny has my number. He can contact. I am my own boss. Manny is his own boss. I think if he calls me we can talk on how we can make this happen. So at least you know that I am interested. Let’s see if he is interested,” Khan further said.

Pacquiao told the show that he has a commitment for a fight early next year. He refused to divulge details.

“We can discuss about the fight. I have a commitment for a next fight. After that we can talk,” he said.

At a press conference he later attended on the same day, Pacquiao said he is looking a holding a Dubai match with Khan next year.

Pacquiao was in Dubai over the weekend for the two-day basketball tourney that the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, which he founded, held at Hamdan Sports Complex.

The Filipino Times asked him further details about the Khan fight to which Pacquiao said: “Wala pa. Wala pa.”
