UP Fighting Maroons’ Ricci Rivero has made a great comeback in the UAAP with a high-flying alley-oop.
In his debut during the UP-FEU match for Season 82 on Wednesday, Rivero scored his first two points by stuffing Jun Manzo’s pass down through the ring one-handedly.
The 21-year-old high-flyer’s return was also marked by UP’s 61-55 victory.
Rivero’s slam dunk, which is now an early candidate for the ‘dunk-of-the-year’, immediately became an instant trending topic on Twitter.
US-based sports websites retweeted and re-posted Rivero’s highlight of the game.
Bleacher Report said, “THIS DUNK IS WILD.”
ESPN and Yahoo Sports both said they were also impressed with the dunk.
Rivero said that he will try to repeat the play but his focus would always be on the game.
