Speedy guard Kiever Ravena was subjected to another random drug testing, his second in three days.
In a report by ESPN5, Ravena and forward Japeth Aguilar were asked by FIBA to undergo a random test last Sunday.
The test was conducted a day before Gilas Pilipinas’ match against Serbia, which was scheduled on Monday night (September 2).
Ravena is back in action following an 18-month suspension after he was tested positive for a banned substance under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Ravena played for 19 minutes and scored five points in Gilas’ 108-62 loss to Italy Saturday night in the 2019 Fiba World Cup in Foshan, China.
With the second test in three days, it seems Ravena is being closely monitored by FIBA, said Gilas head coach Yeng Guiao.
“It’s like it’s not random anymore,” Guiao said in the report.
“But we’re not hiding anything so it’s OK,” Guiao added.
