An arrest warrant has been issued against Los Angeles Lakers center DeMarcus Cousins on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.
USA Today Sports reported that the Mobile municipal court lists a charge of third-degree harassing communications.
Specific details about the alleged incident were not provided.
The Alabama police issued the arrest warrant two days after TMZ released an audio recording, allegedly of Cousins threatening to harm his ex-girlfriend during an argument about their 7-year-old son, the report added.
The NBA and the Lakers have said the allegations against Cousins are being investigated.
The 29-year-old Cousins, a four-time All-Star, signed a free agent contract with the Lakers in July.
He is expected to miss the regular season after suffering a torn ACL earlier this month.
