PH Malditas blanks Singapore to virtually advance to AFF Women’s Championship semis

The Philippine Malditas blanked Singapore, 4-0, to virtually seal a semifinal slot in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Championship on Friday at the Institute of Physical Education Chonburi Stadium in Thailand.

Alisha Del Campo started the scoring for the Malditas before Quinley Quezada scored his own hat-trick.

The Filipinas made it 3-0 lead at the half courtesy of another goal by Del Campo.

Four minutes into the final half, Del Campo scored anew that the game away from Singapore’s reach.

The Philippines wound up with three wins and one loss a goal difference of +12 after the group stage.

The Philippines will now await the outcome of the final game in their group between Malaysia and host nation Thailand.

Malaysia faces a nearly improbable task of beating the heavily favored Thailand by seven goals to beat the Philippines into the semifinals.
