Howard reunites with LA Lakers

Six-foot-11 center Dwight Howard is returning to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that Howard’s deal with the Lakers will be non-guaranteed. The Lakers players were also involved in the process of bringing in Howard.

The Lakers reached out to Howard after DeMarcus Cousins suffered an ACL injury.

Howard played for the Lakers in the 2012-13 season. In that first stint with the Lakers, Howard played for 76 games and averaged 17.1 points and 12.4 rebounds while shooting 57.8 percent from the field.

LA was swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the 2013 playoffs. The following season, Howard signed with the Houston Rockets.

Last season with the Washington Wizards, Howard played in just nine games after being hounded by a gluteal injury in November.

Howard put up 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds with Washington, which later dealt him to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Howard has reportedly reached a buyout agreement with the Grizzlies, sealing his transfer to the Lakers.
