The Gilas Pilipinas U-18 3×3 squad started its campaign in the 2019 FIBA 3×3 U-18 Asia Cup in Cyberjaya, Malaysia with a 21-18 come-from-behind win over Vietnam on Friday.
Terrence Fortea spearheaded GIlas’ victory by firing 10 points.
The FIlipinos toyed with disaster when they allowed the VIetnamese to jump to an early 5-0 lead.
Gilas fought back and forced an 18-all tie inside the final minute of the contest.
Gilas went on to steal the win behind the clutch free throws of Kevin Quiambao and Gerry Abadiano.
Quiambao and Abadiano added a combined 11 points to give Fortea the much-needed support.
