San Miguel rallies to beat TNT in Game 5, nears PBA crown

With import Chris McCullough putting in big numbers anew, the San Miguel Beermen moved a win away from clinching the crown after they outlasted the TNT KaTropa, 99-94, in Game 5 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Best-of-Seven Finals last night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

McCullough threw in a blistering 35-point blitzkrieg, 19 of them in the fourth quarter where the Beermen came back from 17 points down.

San Miguel now leads the series, 3-2, and could wrap up the series with another win in Game 6.

McCullough, who went 13-of-28 from the field, also added 22 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal.

Terrence Jones led the KaTropa with 35 markers, 17 boards, eight assists, four blocks and two steals.
