Hot-shooting TNT takes 2-1 lead in PBA Finals

TNT KaTropa banked on a hot three-point shooting to defeat the San Miguel Beermen, 115-105, in Game 3 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Best-of-Seven Finals last Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The KaTropa now hold a 2-1 series lead as they recovered from their painful 125-127 double-overtime loss in Game 2.

TNT was extra hot from the three-point land where it made 15 of its 38 attempts. San Miguel took 26 shots from the rainbow area but only made eight.

Leading the TNT’s hot shooting was Terrence Jones and RR Pogoy who both went 5-for-9 from the three-point territory.

Jones had a solid all-around game with 37 points, 18 rebounds, nine assists and five blocks. Local support was aplenty for the KaTropa as Pogoy, Don Trollano, Jayson Castro and Troy Rosario all scored in twin digits.

Pogoy scattered 29 points, Trollano pitched in 18, Castro added 14 while Rosario contributed 13.

Chris McCullough and June Mar Fajardo each scored 27 points to lead the Beermen.
