Katropa outlasts PBA Finals G1 over Beermen, 109-96

Pumped up TNT Katropa played solid defense to frustrate San Miguel Beer, 109-96 during the Game 1 of 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals at the Ultra, creating an impressive series opening win.

It’s a swing-song game, as the two teams pull get-and-back, snatching each other scores. Junemar Fajardo scored the first basket, but the TNT splooked out counters to steal scores during the start of the game.

Junemar Fajardo together with Chris Ross, Alex Cabagnot, Chris McCullough and Arwind Santos are the Beermen’s starting five.

While Jayson Castro, RR Pogoy, Don Trollano, Troy Rosario and Terrence Jones make up the KaTropa’s first five.

Terrence Jones packed by confidence, powered 16 points with the team’s seven three-point shots, kaTropa punched San Miguel Beermen, 35-19 during Game one’s first quarter.

Cracking the nerves, KaTropa still led the court over the Beermen, 60-42 at the halftime of the game. Import Terrence Jones basketed 26 points, rushed as leading scorer.

During the third quarter, San Miguel Beer outlined boundaries with 15 point lead, 85-72 over TNT even if Jayson Castro got 20 points and saved KaTropa.

Terrence Jones overthrowed 41 points, 12 rebound, and 8 assists and lead the TNT Katropa all throughout the game. Jones impressive explosion during the fourth quarter gave the KaTropa 19-point outruns, an advantage for the team.

Although it’s a neck-to-neck with the Beermen during the early hours of the game, TNT KaTropa gave 1-0 lead and carved possibilities on their race-to-four title final exhibitions.
