Pacquiao’s boxing shorts sold for over P1 million in auction

The trunks that Manny Pacquiao wore during his recent fight against Keith Thurman was sold for $24,750 (nearly P1.3 million).

The trunks was sold for charity at an auction by Charity Buzz and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The proceeds will be donated to non-profit organizations which help fight Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive and terminal disease that destroys nerve cells leading to disability.

Before the fight, Pacquiao has said that he was dedicating the fight to ALS awareness.

In that July 20 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, the Filipino boxing icon defeated the American Thurman via split decision to wrest the WBA welterweight belt.

With the victory, Pacquiao, a Senator in the Philippines, showed that he is not slowing down even at 40 years old.

Nicknamed “Pacman,” Pacquiao now has a record of 62 wins, 39 by knockouts, seven losses and two draws.

Pacquiao is the only boxer in the world to win world titles in eight weight classes in what has been a sterling career.
