After teaching teaching Keith Thurman a painful lesson in the boxing ring on Sunday, boxing champ Senator Manny Pacquiao has earned a massive amount of prize money, reports revealed.
ESPN’s Dan Rafael reported that a $10 million earnings went straight to Pacquaio’s purse while Thurman received $2.5 million.
This is according to the contract purses of the two boxers as per the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
But the earnings don’t just end there.
According to Forbes, in a separate report, Pacquiao will get approximately more than $20 million while Thurman will get $8 million more.
Back in 2015, Pacquiao’s fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. was considered the bestselling fight in boxing history.
Even if Mayweather defeated Pacquaio, he still managed to take home $120 million as part of the $300 million split purse prize during that time, Forbes reported.
