Two Filipinos scored TKOs in undercard matches of Pacquiao-Thurman fight

Two Pinoy boxers made Filipinos proud early on in the undercard matches in Las Vegas on Sunday (Manila Time).

Both boxers scored a technical knock-out (TKO) in the separate flyweight and featherweight bout.

Flyweight Genisis Libranza, who hails from Bayugan, Agusan del Sur, scored a TKO in the fourth round with 2 minutes and 58 seconds in the clock time.

He dominated over 28-year-old Carlos Maldonado of East Los Angeles who was driven to the ropes during the first round.

The referee had to call out the fight during the fourth round after Maldonado suffered blows in his body and face.

Featherweight John Leo Dato, who traces his roots to La Union, downed Juan Antonio Lopez twice in the first round and 2 minutes and 5 seconds on the fifth round.

The still undefeated Dato landed a body shot to Lopez that ended their bout.
