Another Filipino boxer suffered major loss to a Mexican boxer in one of the undercard fights in the Manny Pacquiao-Keith Thurman WBA welterweight championship in Las Vegas on Sunday (Manila Time).
Mexican boxer Luis Nery scored a knock out (KO) in the ninth round against Juan Carlos Payano, dubbed as “Baby Pacquiao”.
However, Payano, whose style was similar to Pacquiao, gave the Mexican a hard time figuring out his moves and techniques before the vicious left that brought down the former in the ring.
This led to a KO at 1:43 in the clock during the ninth round.
In a report from Inquirer.net, Nery described Payano as a “very complicated fighter” and a “veteran” but his left hook on the latter’s body devastated him.
