Dula bags 4 gold at swim tilt

Marc Bryan Dula , Philippine Swimming League-Swimming Pinas tanker, bagged four gold medals to secure the Most Outstanding Swimmer award in the 2019 SMP Swimming Championship held at the Don Bosco Technical College swimming pool in Mandaluyong City, Manila Times reported.

Dula, a Masville Elementary School-Paranaque graduate, started his campaign in a bright note by topping the boys’ 12-year 100m butterfly in one minute and 3.78 seconds, said the report.

The Palarong Pambansa multi-gold medallist went consistent with his impressive showing as he dominated the 50-meter freestyle at 28 seconds then clinched another gold in the 200m Individual Medley by virtue of his two-minute, 25.90-second performance.

Dula, who competed against tall rivals, copped his fourth mint in the 100m backstroke event after checking in at 1:07.75 to seal the MOS award in his age-band.

“Overall, it was a great performance. He needs competitions like this to gauge his skills. It’s a good exposure before competing abroad,” the Times report quoted Philippine Swimming League (PSL) coach Alex Papa as saying.

Papa is Dula’s trainor.

Dula recently won three gold medals in the 2019 Palarong Pambansa in Davao City. He also earned seven gold medals in the 2019 Thanyapura Invitational Swimming Championship in Phuket, Thailand.

Next month, Dula will be seeing action in the 2019 Invitational Swimming Championship in Singapore together with some standouts of the PSL-Swimming Pinas.
