Team Frank Lloyd Wright bags ABA Season 8 title

DUBAI: Team Frank Lloyd Wright bagged the Architects Basketball Association (ABA) Season 8 Championship after trouncing Calatrava, 64-59 at the Shabab Al Ahli Gym, Dubai.

The organization’s annual main event also dubbed, the Inter-color league, had an electrifying finals match-up that witnessed a down-the-wire finish between the two teams that engaged in a very close battle throughout the game until Team Wright finally clamped down on a great defensive effort on the dying seconds to secure the win.

2ND PLACE-CALATRAVA

Finals MVP Don Hatamosa and Season MVP Reydhom Legario combined for 48 points to power Team Wright to the championship while Jay Gonzales led Runner-up Calatrava with 19 markers.

Meanwhile, Gaudi prevailed over Kurokawa to the tune of 77-66 to clinch 3rd place. Junar Aquino led his team with 21 points to bag the accolade.

SEASON MVP- REYDHOM LEGARIO

Mythical Team included Rommel Cruz (Frank Lloyd Wright), Junar Aquino (Gaudi), Dennis Garcia (Kurokawa), Jay Argos Gonzales (Calatrava) and Hadji Bustos (Calatrava).

Other awards included Anthony Apolinario as Best Coach and Resty Pammit as Best Team Leader.

FINALS MVP-DON HATAMOSA

The rest of the teams that participated in the tournament which opened November last year included Philip Johnson, Kenzo Tanze, Robert Venturi, Mies Van De Rohe, Frank Gehry, Zada Hadid, Jean Nouvel and Le Corbusier.

EKA Group, led by Mr. Christos Antoniou, graced the awarding ceremonies with the ABA Committee team of Junar Aquino, Bench San Juan, Don Hatamosa, Josh Claveria, Anthony Apolinario, Raymund Cimafranca and Philip Balangatan.

MYTHICAL TEAM

The League was officiated by JAZZVILLE led by Roland Crisostomo and Janzen Kate Nogrado.
