Pacquaio vs Thurman title fight set for July 20

Manila, Philippines– “People’s Champ” Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao is set to return to the ring on July 20.

The eight division world champion (61-7-2, 39 KO) will be fighting against undefeated and reigning WBA Super Welterweight World Champion Keith Thurman in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The boxing match will be carried by FOX POV. No official announcement on the boxing venue has been made.

Pacquaio will coming from his recent win over Adrien Broner last January 19. The boxing champ has already made his intention to fight again in July but his camp said the boxer-turned-senator will finish the campaign season first before returning to the ring.

Pacquiao is the current campaign manager of administration party PDP-Laban. Initial discussions were made for a possible fight with welterweight champ Errol Spence but Pacquiao’s camp is determined to make Pacquiao-Thurman bout to happen, according to reports.

Thurman will also be returning to the ring after a 22-month off due to an elbow surgery following his match with Joselito Lopez to defend his title.

“Later this year if that fight presents itself, I would definitely be open for negotiations and I would love an opportunity to fight a legend” Thurman said in an interview after his match with Lopez.
