UAE Mountainbiking Jumeirah holds 2nd XC Adventure Race

DUBAI: Some 150 bikers, apparently taking advantage of the relatively cool weather that, however, is about to wind down in the coming weeks to make way for summer, took part in UAE Mountainbiking Jumeirah’s 2nd XC Adventure Race 2019 held March 22, Friday, at Emirates Adventure Camp, in Wadi Showka, Ras Al Khaimah.

The race route was a loop of 8 kilometers with four categories: Lady’s Newbies-1loop at 8km; Lady’s Open for 3 loops at 24 Km;  Men’s Newbies for 3 loops at 24Km and the Men’s Open for 5 loops.

Nine-year-old Oliver Baille, was the youngest rider in the race & he received a special award of cash prizes of Dh500. He joined in the newbie category.

  • Ladies Newbies: 1st – Kim Nidogma Time: 00:36:36 Team: Diera Riders

2nd-May Abarquez Time: 00:39:19 Team: BRAD Abu Dhabi

3rd – Yvette Gigante Time: 00:41:56 Team: BRAD Abu Dhabi

  • Ladies Open: 1st – Bea Clark Time: 1:49:07

2nd – Alexandra Mills Time: 2:30:25

3rd – Annie Baillie Time: 3:00:00

  • Men’s Newbies 1st – Lunaboy Flores Time: 01:17:26 Team: Al Ain MTB

2nd – RG Enclonar Time:01:22:40 Team: Abu Dhabi MTB

3rd – Nino Khen Belgira Time: 01:24:08 Team: Al Ain MTB

  • Men’s Open 1st- Michael Gronbech Time: 01:54:24

2nd – Murt Rampuri Time: 02:05:22

All winners received cash money, customized handmade trophies, medals, cap and  t-shirts.
