The Philippines has now proven that it has a shot at the field of football as Special Olympics Philippines’ Futsal team sealed the championship against formidable foe Special Olympics South Korea with a score of 4-1.

The Philippine delegation to the ongoing Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 now has a total of 8 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze medals as they continue to compete against the world’s finest athletes while forging new friendships with people of determination from around the globe.

Today, March 20 is the final day for the competitions as the Special Olympics games end with an official closing ceremony happening tomorrow, Thursday at March 21. The Philippines will be competing on the fields of Swimming, Powerlifting, and Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Further to the celebration of acceptance and tolerance in the UAE, the Special Olympics aims to prove to the world that people of determination can become valued members of their very own communities, leading to a more inclusive and respectful society for everyone.

Tickets to watch the games are free, while the closing ceremony will be ticketed.
