Ginebra rallies to a 3-point win against Phoenix

MANILA: The boys of Barangay Ginebra got their act together and rallied to a three-point victory against Phoenix, 100-97 in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup heldf at the Araneta Coliseum, March 10, Sunday.

The wind was blowing to the Gin Kings’ favor in the final moments of the game and they certainly made good use of it, putting in field goals and treys to elevate their standings at 4-3, at the same time handing league-leading Fuel Masters their second loss in 10 outings.

All eyes were on LA Tenorio as he led Ginebra’s fightback with two much needed treys as Aljon Mariano and Japeth Aguilar rose to the occasion in the dying seconds to secure the win.

Tenorio, whotied Alvin Patrimonio for most consecutive games played at 596, finished with a game-high 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals and buried two straight triples that gave the Gin Kings a 94-93 lead, according to a Rappler report.

Both teams traded buckets in the final cliffhanger three minutes until Ginebra held a 98-97 lead off two free throws by Jervy Cruz with 53 seconds left in the game.
