Adrien Broner insists he is true winner in fight vs Manny Pacquiao

American boxer Adrien Broner was not able to snatch the welterweight championship title from Manny Pacquiao during their bout at the MGM Grand Arena on Sunday, but the former insisted that he was the one who controlled the fight making him the true winner.

Pacquiao won the match via unanimous decision, but Broner said during the post-fight interview with Showtime’s Jim Gray that he should have won the WBA World welterweight title.

“I beat him, everybody out there knows I beat him… I controlled the fight. He was missing, I hit him clean more times. I beat him,” Broner said.

Broner climbed a turnbuckles, signifying that he won the match, only to receive a wild boo from the crowd.

He showed more confidence to lash out Pacman in the 5th round, but his calibre of practice that he had seemed to be lacking.

Pacquiao unleashed his strategic left cross in the seventh round, stopping Broner to snatch the victory. The latter landed some good counters but it’s Pacman who’s still has the grasp of the game.

By the end of the match, the judges handed down scores of 117-111, 116-112 and 116-112, in favor of Pacquiao.
