PH team all set for 2018 Federation Cup in Bahrain

The Philippine women’s tennis team has arrived in Bahrain to compete for the Federation Cup Group 2 on February 6 to 10.

The team is being led by 2017 Kuala Lumpur Southeast Asian Games silver medalist Ana Clarice Patrimonio, who debuted in the Fed Cup in 2011, and won all her 11 singles and 15 doubles matches.

Filipino-German Katharina Lehnert and Khim Iglupas, who both competed in the SEA Games, are also in the team along with Marian Jade Capadocia.

The Philippine bet aims to make it back to Group 1, after being relegated to Group 2 when they lost at the Group 1 competition held in Astana, Kazakhstan last year.

Currently, the Philippines is in the Pool B together with Kyrgyzstan and Singapore.

The Fed Cup is the world’s biggest and most important tournament between national teams in women’s tennis.
