Filipina granny, 75, makes deadlift record

A 75-year-old Filipina grandmother in Utah, USA hoisted 95 kilos (209 pounds) via deadlift in a local weightlifting competition to break the state and national record.

Susie Rose, a native of Bulacan, was competing in the 65-plus age division of the American Powerlifting Federation (APF) when she made the lift that won her the gold medal and qualified her to compete in the APF World Cup on August 31 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Rose, who has 37 grandchildren, can also benchpress 75 pounds and can plank for 7 minutes and 35 seconds.

Rose said it is important to stay fit and healthy regardless of age.
