Pinoy fighter beats Dutch rival in Jakarta

MANILA: Filipino mixed martial arts fighter Edward Kelly has extended Team Lakay’s impressive win streak following a victory over Vincent Latoel on the undercard of ONE Championship: Titles and Titans on Saturday night in Indonesia.

Kelly, 32, was on the receiving end of Latoel’s trademark leg kicks in the opening round, reported GMA News.

Seemingly showing no respect for Kelly’s power, the Dutch fighter had the Filipino against the cage where he ate a right hook that sent him to the canvas in the second round.

Smelling blood, Kelly was more than happy to finish his prey by unleashing a hammer fist on top to seal the knockout victory at the 0:57 mark of round two.

The highlight reel knockout improved Kelly’s record to 8-3 while Latoel dropped to 16-18, said the news portal.
