A 10-year-old boy committed suicide in Tondo, Manila after his aunt put makeup on him and posted photos on Facebook Monday afternoon.
“Jorge Miano” was found by his mother Charie hanging inside his room of their home in Dagupan Extension in Tondo.
His mum said Jorge was in a kneeling position; a scarf looped around his neck with its ends attached to a cradle.
According to a report signed by Superintendent Alex Daniel of the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 7, the aunt told the boy that she would post the photos she took of him on her Facebook account.
Upset, the boy went to his room and locked the door. His mother followed and knocked but to no avail.
When his mum forced her way in to open the door, she found her son hanging by a silk scarf from the doorjamb. The family tried to revive Jorge but failed. Tondo Medical Center declared the boy dead on arrival.
According to authorities, the family refused to cooperate with them, saying there was no foul play.
