PH commends UAE for responsive global action against COVID-19

The UAE’s heart for giving, compassion, and care extended its reach beyond the seven emirates with its global response to aid fellow countries fight against the spread of the coronavirus disease, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) coordinating with diplomatic missions to ensure the safety of citizens and residents both in and out of the country.
Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Hjayceelyn Quintana was among the diplomatic community who have expressed their gratitude towards the leadership of the country in ensuring that not only residents are cared for, as the UAE even sent out relief packages to help countries rise from the challenges posed by the pandemic.
“The UAE is a model country in terms of humanitarian assistance. While itself dealing with the pandemic, the UAE has pursued the path of helping other countries as this is the only way to effectively deal with the contagion. I therefore admire the leaders of the UAE for showing a good vision for all humanity,” said Amb. Quintana in an announcement through the official page of the Philippine Embassy in the UAE.

Fellow ambassadors and diplomats who expressed their words of gratitude to the UAE include (in order of appearance) USA Ambassador to the UAE, H.E John Rakolta Jr.; Switzerland Ambassador to the UAE and Bahrain, H.E. Massimo Baggi; Germany Ambassador to the UAE H.E. Ernst Peter Fischer; Afghanistan Embassy in the UAE Charge d’ affaires Ahmad Sayer Daudzi; and UK Ambassador to the UAE H.E., Patrick Moody.
Earlier, the UAE has sent over seven tonnes of medical supplies to the Philippines to help the country’s frontliners combat the spread of the viral disease. Filipinos in the UAE responded in kind stating that they trust and thank the UAE’s leadership for giving them a second home away from home.
