PH Presidential adviser warns second COVID-19 lockdown will put country in peril

President Rodrigo Duterte’s adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion warned the public that another countrywide lockdown will put the Philippine economy in great danger if both public and private sector fail to cooperate and contain the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Concepcion stated that a resurgence would not only create problems for the masses, it would also put to waste all government measures in place as well as the plans for the stimulus package worth Php1.3 trillion aimed to aid businesses and various sectors.
“The private sector and the government has to definitely prevent a resurgence that will bring back a second lockdown. A second lockdown will destroy this country, I’m already saying that,” said Concepcion in an interview with CNN Philippines.

President Rodrigo Duterte himself warned the public that he might consider implementing the Enhanced Community Quarantine once again if the number of COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the coming days.
Reports from CNN furthered that Concepcion proposes that one of the viable solutions is to continue to increase visibility through a surge of COVID-19 testing on major areas, practice social distancing, as well as adherence to the country’s health guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
