Around 300 tourists from South Korea are currently stranded at Boracay as flights have been suspended for a week, following directives from the Philippine government.
Boracay South Korean Community Coordinator Soojin Kim stated that the number did not include children who are also stranded together with their parents.
Kim furthered that all tourists have expressed their interest to immediately fly back to their home country as the threat of the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) continues in the Philippines as per reports from GMA News.
179 South Korean tourists have been repatriated so far through a flight from Caticlan airport, but authorities have yet to mention when flights from the said airport will resume.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines recently announced that flights are expected to resume starting May 11 for the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and that other international airports in the country should be set to implement their own rules in the coming days.
