PH announces 198 new COVID-19 cases, total at 7,777

The Philippines has logged 198 new COVID-19 cases on Monday bringing the total number of cases to 7,777.
The number of recoveries grew to 932 after the Department of Health (DOH) announced 70 new recoveries.
The agency also announced 10 new deaths raising the death toll to 511.
Metro Manila remains as the area with the highest COVID-19 cases detected which has logged 4,587 cases.
According to DOH’s COVID-19 tracker, the department has conducted 76,030 individual tests as of April 25.
Earlier, the conversion of the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City as a temporary COVID-19 medical facility has been finished by Villar Group in just three days.
The facility, which has two nurse stations and can accommodate up to 132 patients, will be turned over to the Philippine National Police Medical Corps within the week.
President Rodrigo Duterte approved Friday the extension of Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila and areas under high-risk of the spread of COVID-19 until May 15.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country was placed under General Community Quarantine until May 15.
