Dubai Police seize 59kg of narcotics from Asian gang

Dubai Police on Thursday seized a total of 59kg of narcotics from a four-member Asian gang.
Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, said they were able to halt the attempt of the gang to take advantage of the precautionary measures place to combat COVID-19, Khaleej Times reported.
Al Marri lauded the sophisticated efforts of police investigators to carry out the monitoring of movement of the suspects that lead to their arrest.
Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, assistant commander-in-chief for Criminal Investigations Affairs at the Dubai Police, said the anti-narcotics department launched a surveillance for the suspects upon receiving a tip about their illicit activities.
“The anti-narcotic team successfully arrested the criminals in a timely manner and seized 59kg of illegal drugs, including 26kg of heroin and 33kg of crystal meth,” he said.
