Robredo reveals breakdown of Php 50.9 million in donations for frontliners

Vice President Leni Robredo has shared that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) of the Philippines’ “Angat Buhay” program and “Kaya Natin” movement has consolidated over Php50,930,160.01 in donations from the public and private sectors as of April 11, 6:00 pm.
Robredo expressed her gratitude to the public as she states that this would be allocated for the benefit of 7,750 frontliners for 15 days of their duty as the country continues its fight to halt the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“Taos-puso po ang aming pasasalamat sa pagpapaabot ninyo ng suporta sa ating mga frontliners. As of 6PM kahapon, April 11, umabot na po sa higit Php 50.9 million ang halagang nalikom para makatulong sa kanila, mula sa pinagsamang pondo ng OVP at ang dagsa ng tulong sa donation drive ng Kaya Natin Movement,” said the Vice President on her Facebook post.

The total amount will be allocated for the provision of 116,262 personal protective equipment (PPE) sets in addition to the 69,075 PPEs that were already provided by the OVP to 327 hospitals and communities all over the Philippines.
The Vice President furthered that her office would also be providing Food and Care packages for other frontliners responsible for the upkeep of the hospitals in the Philippines.

“Bahagi rin ng halagang ito ay nakalaan upang magpaabot ng kalinga sa pamamagitan ng 13,241 Food and Care Packages, na para naman sa iba pa nating frontliners, gaya ng mga janitors, security guards, midwives, at iba pang tumutulong sa pagpapatakbo ng mga ospital sa panahong ito. Nakapag-deliver na ng 6,607 packs na ito sa 29 na mga ospital sa Metro Manila nitong nagdaang dalawang linggo,” said Robredo.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte commended the efforts of Robredo on the government’s COVID-19 fight. “Wala naman kasalanan ang Vice President. Nag ano nga na tumulong,” said Duterte.
