Newborn babies in Thailand go viral with their tiny COVID-19 face shields

Various newborn infants in Thailand went viral on social media after photos of them wearing tiny face shields circulated online.
 
The babies who were born at Princ Hospital in Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok and Paolo Hospital in Samutprakarn were made to wear tiny face masks as a precautionary measure against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) whenever relatives visit them.
 
The face shields were customized to fit their tiny faces, and photos of them in the said masks attracted thousands of likes and retweets on Twitter.


 
Many netizens commended the hospital for their effort to protect them from the disease, commenting how the babies look cute in the protective gear.
 
However, a lot of them also said they felt said that the babies need to deal with the pandemic early in their age.
 
According to a report by The National, the Princ Hospital has also launched free drive-through coronavirus tests for taxi drivers. The said test centers can conduct up to 10 tests a day.
 
Thailand now has 2,518 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 38 deaths and 1,218 recoveries.
