Pakistan's COVID-19 cases now over 4,000

Pakistan has reported a total of 4,194 cases of the coronavirus disease as numbers continue to increase adjacent to the rise of tests done in the country.
Authorities have also reported 467 patients who have fully recovered, with 60 deaths in total as of April 8.

Breakdown of cases in each area are as follows:
Punjab: 2,108
Sindh: 1,036
KP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa): 527
Balochistan: 210
GB (Gilgit Baltistan): 211
Islamabad: 83
AJK (Azad, Jammu & Kashmir): 19
In Punjab, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar stressed the need for immediate screening of suspected patients, stating that health authorities should acquire necessary equipment as soon as possible.

“All patients in the quarantine facilities or isolation wards will be tested again after 14 days and those testing negative [for COVID-19] will be allowed to go home,” said Chief Minister Buzdar as per a report from The Dawn.
He furthered that the government fully supports the poor as well as their families during this time of need.
“The Punjab government is standing with the affected people and the poor will not be left alone. The government employees have set a high example and every penny [of the donation] will be spent on the welfare of the deserving people. I am monitoring the relief activities and there would be no delay in this regard,”
