DFA: Number of OFWs with COVID-19 climbs to 594

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday said 594 overseas Filipinos contracted coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Three new deaths were reported in America and Europe raising the total number of fatalities to 68.
Meanwhile, 362 of the total number of cases are undergoing treatment while 164 patients were already discharged or recovered from the disease.
DFA said 225 Filipinos in Asia Pacific Region contracted COVID-19 with 131 recoveries and one death.
Europe has 199 infected Filipinos with 27 deaths and 10 recoveries, while the Americas has 108 cases, with 50 recoveries and 38 deaths.
Meanwhile, 62 cases were reported in the Middle East and Africa including three deaths and two recoveries.
“The DFA remains committed in supporting global and national efforts against #COVID19 to assist our kababayan abroad so that together #WeHealAsOne,” DFA said in a statement.
