Ras Al Khaimah shuts down shop for creating substandard face masks

The Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK DED) has recently ordered a car upholstery shop to shut down after it illegally produced facemasks.
RAK DED Director-General Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Shayeb stated that the department discovered the illegal manufacturing of the masks during their inspection.

“The seized facemasks did not meet the prescribed standards,” said Al Shayeb as per a report from Khaleej Times.
The department also found out that the shop wasn’t licensed to reproduce face masks, and that a grocery store was subsequently fined for selling them.

Apart from shutting down the store, the department also penalized two pharmacies in the area for hiking prices of face masks.
Dr. Al Shayeb reminds the public to only purchase face masks from reputable stores.
