No 'move permit', no stepping out to grocery for Dubai residents

Do I need a ‘move permit’ if I need to go to the supermarket to buy food and other essentials?
This has been today’s most persistent question from Dubai residents amid the imposed 24-hour disinfection program rolled out by the UAE government.
On Monday, the Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management reiterated the anyone in the emirate who wants to step out of their houses or accommodation must apply for a permit.
This includes residents who would walk or ride on a bicycle to buy grocery items or medicines.
Moreover, the permit which can be secured online will only allow them to strictly travel to the supermarket or pharmacy.
The public is also reminded to always wear a face mask when outside and to keep grocery receipts as proof if they have been stopped by a patrol or detected by radar.
