Three Filipino senior citizens recover from COVID-19

The elderly group is among those who are in ‘high risk’ sector of contracting the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Hence, stories of recovery from this age group are considered a huge milestone for any medical facilities.
Such cases are three Filipino senior citizens who recently recovered from the virus this weekend.
An elderly couple proved that nothing can break them apart, not even COVID-19, as they both recovered from the virus.
In a video posted by the VRP Medical Center (VRPMC) in Mandaluyong City, the couple were seen on wheelchairs on their way out of the hospital.
The medical staff gave them a ‘hope card’ which were sent by children to COVID-19 patients.
Hospital administrator Rona Garcia said that it was the 63 year old-wife of Cesar who was first admitted for COVID-19.
Cesar however stayed and remained at the hospital with his wife. The man later on also tested positive for the virus.
“Protocol po for COVID ang walang bantay kasi madali makahawa. But this case nakiusap sila, they signed a waiver,” Garcia said.
The couple stayed in the same hospital room and later on recovered from the virus after two weeks. They will still be subjected to another 14-day quarantine after being discharged from the hospital.
Another 73-year-old patient in Baguio City also recovered from the virus.
In an ABS-CBN News report, she was recently released from the Notre Dame Hospital. The hospital staff gave her balloons and was brought to her house after leaving the hospital.
